3 Things That Changed How I See My Creative Brand

Building My Presence Matters More Than I Thought
One of the biggest takeaways I got from my strategic presentation course is how important it is to actually build my presence, not just talk about what I want to do. Before this class, I had ideas, projects, and goals, but I wasn’t really putting myself out there in a consistent way. Using platforms like LinkedIn and building my own website showed me that how I present myself matters just as much as the work itself. It’s not enough to be talented if nobody sees it. I learned how to organize my work, write about my experience, and make everything look clean and professional. Now I see my online presence as an extension of who I am as a creative, not just something extra.

Realizing I’m Building a Brand, Not Just Posting Content
Another big takeaway is understanding the importance of branding myself. This class made me realize that I’m not just posting random content or doing random projects, I’m building a brand, whether I realize it or not. Everything I create, from videos to captions to my website, says something about me. Because of that, I started thinking more about consistency, style, and the message I want to put out. I want people to recognize my work and know it’s mine without even seeing my name. That comes from being intentional with what I create and how I present it. It also made me realize that branding isn’t fake or forced, it’s really just being clear and consistent about who you are and what you do.

Finding My Voice Through the Podcast Project
The last takeaway that stood out to me was from working on the final podcast project. Doing the podcast helped me get more comfortable expressing my ideas and talking about film and creativity in a more natural way. It wasn’t just about editing or visuals anymore, it was about my voice, my opinions, and how I communicate with others. That’s something I didn’t focus on as much before. It also showed me the value of collaboration, especially when working with people who share similar interests. Overall, the podcast made me realize that building a presence isn’t just visual, it’s also about how you speak, connect, and share your perspective.
