Research Sources and Their Impact
The most helpful source for me was honestly my own interview with Zion B. Instead of just reading articles or watching videos, I was able to learn directly from someone who is actually living what my topic is about. He’s an artist who has been using social media and digital technology to push his music and build connections, so hearing his perspective felt way more real and personal. It helped me understand how people my age are actually using these platforms, not just what people say about it online. Also, directing, shooting, and editing the video myself made me more involved in the process. I had to come up with my own interview questions, which felt like writing a script, and I used storytelling techniques by following him around New York City and capturing cinematic moments throughout Manhattan.

Challenges and Solutions
The main challenge I faced wasn’t the filming or editing, it was audio. Some of the sound didn’t come out as clean as I wanted, which is important for an interview-based project. To fix this, I plan to use my wireless mics in future shoots so the audio is clearer and more consistent. Other than that, the process went pretty smoothly, and it showed me what I need to improve moving forward.

Unexpected Discoveries and Learning
One thing that stood out to me was how powerful it is to hear directly from someone instead of just reading about a topic. When I asked Zion B what message he had for the world and for people who want to create, it gave me a deeper understanding of how personal and meaningful creating really is. It reminded me that social media isn’t just a tool, it’s a way for people to express themselves and connect with others on a real level.

Next Steps and Refinements
This research is going to help me move my project forward by shaping how I approach future interviews. I want to keep improving my storytelling and make each episode feel more cinematic and intentional. I also want to focus more on audio quality and maybe experiment with different types of shots and environments. There’s still more to explore in terms of how different creatives use technology in their own way.

Key Takeaways and Evolving Perspective
Learning directly from people is more impactful than just reading sources
Storytelling plays a big role in how interviews connect with an audience
Technical details like audio can make or break a project
My perspective hasn’t really changed, but it definitely motivated me more. If anything, this experience pushed me to take this series more seriously and keep building it. It made me want to stay consistent and keep telling stories like this through a documentary style.
