For this project, I created a tutorial video that explains some of the basic steps behind creating a cinematic video. In the tutorial I walk through my editing process, including how to select the right clips, choose a song that fits the mood, sync the visuals to the music, and add things like transitions, sound effects, and text. The goal of the video is to simplify the editing process and show beginners that making something cinematic does not always require complicated techniques. Sometimes it just comes down to choosing the right clips and matching them well with the music.

Who is this for?
The audience I had in mind while making this video is beginner creators who are interested in filmmaking or editing but might not know where to start. People who are learning to edit for YouTube, Instagram, or short-form content could benefit from a simple breakdown of the basics before moving into more advanced techniques.
How will people find this?
I expect most viewers to find the video through search results or platform recommendations. Someone might search something like “how to edit cinematic videos” or “cinematic editing basics,” which could lead them to my tutorial. As discussed in Wolf’s article, platforms use algorithms to sort and recommend content based on what users typically watch or interact with. Because of this, people who already watch filmmaking or editing tutorials are more likely to be shown similar videos.

Wolf also explains that this kind of sorting can create a sense of trust because users often see content that matches their interests and expectations. If viewers feel that the video is helpful and easy to follow, they are more likely to watch longer or engage with it, which can help the algorithm continue recommending it to similar audiences.
