Mind, Body, and Soul

One problem I sometimes deal with is feeling overwhelmed when I have too many responsibilities at once. Between school, work, and personal projects, it can feel like everything is happening at the same time. When that happens, it becomes harder to stay motivated and I start feeling mentally drained. During the semester especially, assignments, deadlines, and other responsibilities can build up quickly. If I am not careful, that stress can affect my focus and overall mood.

One way I deal with this problem is by taking time to do things that help me reset mentally. For me, creativity plays a big role in my self care. Since I enjoy filmmaking and working with cameras, doing something creative helps me relax. Sometimes that can be watching films, editing videos, or even just thinking about new ideas for stories. Creative activities help me shift my focus away from stress and remind me why I enjoy the work I do.

Another thing that helps me maintain my mental health is staying organized. When everything is just in my head, it feels overwhelming. Writing things down and breaking larger tasks into smaller steps makes things feel more manageable. Instead of worrying about everything at once, I can focus on completing one task at a time.
I also try to give myself time to recharge. That might be listening to music, going for a drive, or simply taking a break from screens for a while. These small moments help me clear my mind and come back with a better mindset.
Overall, practicing self care is important because it helps me manage stress and stay balanced. Life can get busy, but taking time for creativity, staying organized, and allowing myself to recharge makes a big difference in maintaining my mental health.
